Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and egg in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
- Add the dry ingredients to the sugar/butter mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix to combine.
- The dough will be quite stiff. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before dropping by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- If the dough seems too stiff, mix in a tablespoon of water.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned (the centers will be soft)
- Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheets and cool on a wire rack.
